Meet Anissa | The Heart Behind the Treehouse
Welcome! I’m Anissa, an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist, specialized feeding therapist, and the founder of The Functional Treehouse.
My clinical journey began right here in my hometown of Northridge, California. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge, and went on to complete my Master’s degree at Minot State University in North Dakota. Dedicated to providing neurodiversity-affirming care, I have completed advanced clinical certifications including DIRFloortime® and Feed the Peds®. These specialized frameworks allow me to look at the whole child, blending advanced oral-motor and feeding mechanics with relationship-based, child-led communication strategies.
My Philosophy: Professional Expertise and Wholehearted Care
I bring my whole heart into every session. As a mom myself, I deeply understand the worries, hopes, and dreams you have for your child. I know how deeply you want them to feel understood, and I am fully invested in your family's journey.
I firmly believe that high-level therapy and pure joy go hand in hand. My goal is to create a supportive space that your child genuinely looks forward to visiting each week. While I lead our sessions with fun and play, I am relentlessly committed to tracking data, pursuing clinical expertise, and being the most effective therapist possible for your family. I am not just here to implement a treatment plan; I am here to be your child’s biggest cheerleader and your trusted partner.
Beyond the Treehouse
When I am not in the clinic or collaborating with families, you can usually find me chasing after my active little guy, enjoying quality time with my family, or tracking down the best local Mediterranean food.
